Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar was an Indian Television singing competition. The show got started on April 11, 2008 on Star Plus Channel. It was telecast every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m. The show featured winners and runners-up of different reality shows such as Star Voice of India, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Indian Idol, Fame Gurukul etc. It provided an opportunity to runners-ups to outshine the title winners of different reality shows. It was judged by well-known Indian choreographer and director Farah Khan and music directors Vishal and Shekhar, and hosted by Indian TV and film actress Mandira Bedi. The participants were divided into two groups – Champions and Challengers. The Champions were the past title winners of different reality shows. There were six champions on the show. The Challengers were the runners-up of different reality shows. There were twelve challengers on the show. Amey Date and Rex D' Souza were introduced as new challengers on the show on May 16, 2008. A Wild Card round was kept on May 30, 2008. The five eliminated champions - Ruprekha Banerjee, Priyani Vani, Amit Sana, Himani Kapoor, Prajakta Shukre competed against each other in order to re-enter the main competition. Rex D' Souza and Amey Date were eliminated on May 31, 2008. Prajakta Shukre returned to the main contest on May 31, 2008. She was finally eliminated on June 13, 2008. After several rounds of singing performances, 3 finalists were selected Abhijeet Sawant, Rahul Vaidya and Harshit Saxena. The grand finale was held on July 12, 2008. Rahul Vaidya was declared the winner of Jo Jeeta Wohi Superstar. Abhijeet Sawant was declared the first runner-up and Harshit Saxena, the second runner-up.
