MTV SplitsVilla is a dating reality television show by MTV India. The show is created by Raghu Ram (Roadies fame), the senior supervising producer of MTV India channel. SplitsVilla 3 is telecast every Saturday 7:00 pm on MTV India channel. Vodaphone is the title sponsor of the show.

In the 1st season of SplitsVilla, there were twenty girls and two boys, where the twenty girls were given tasks and they had to perform and pass from it. Every week two boys dumped one girl and the dumped girl had to leave the show. The final girl was winner and she had to choose one boy from the two boys.The tagline for SplitsVilla 1 was ‘Where Love is War’. The first season of SplitsVilla was hosted by Rannvijay Singh and the winners were Shraddha and Vishal.

In the season 2 of SplitsVilla nine boys and nine girls were selected after auditions. The format of the show was different from season 1. The tagline of the show was ‘9 Boys, 9 Girls. In a Twisted Tale of Love’. King and Queen were selected from these eighteen contestants. The contestants had to flatter the King and the Queen in order to survive from getting dumped. Finally, King dumped one girl and Queen dumped one boy. Last boy and girl were the winner of SplitsVilla 2. The second season of SplitsVilla was hosted by MTV VJ Nikhil Chinappa and winners were Sidharth Bhardwaj and Sakshi Pradhan.

In the season 3 of SplitsVilla the format of the show was different from season 1 and season 2. The tagline of the show was The War For Love Returns’. 5 couples fought to stick together and 5 boys and 5 girls struggled to make a mark of their own! Contestants were given different tasks to perform every week. Last couple was the winner of SplitsVilla 3. The winning couple got a chance to win Rs. 10 lakh (about US$20,000) and host their own show on MTV.

The SplitsVilla 3 was set up at luxury villa in Asia’s most popular beach destination, Phuket, Thailand. The show started on December 19, 2009 and the hosts were MTV VJ Nikhil Chinappa and VJ Deepti Gujral.

The Grand Finale of SplitsVilla 3 was held on March 13, 2010. Riya Bamniyal & Parag Chadha were declared the winners of SplitsVilla 3 while Kirti Sharma & Vikas Mehandroo were the runner-up.
